Maximum fringe

So, this is goodbye, at least for a fair bit. I'm taking tomorrow for myself, and then I'll spend the next handful of days with my family before flying to London on Thursday. If there aren't any major complications with that part, I'll be tucked in my new home on Friday...but I expect that Simon and I will have some, um, catching up to do over the weekend. Business should resume as normal week after next and thanks again from both of us for all the well-wishes.

Since I'll have a fairly lengthy absence, I'm giving you my personal 'best of' twee/indie/nostalgia pop. You can download these tracks individually, or scroll down to the bottom of the list to grab them all in a handy zip file. Take good care, everyone!

MAXIMUM FRINGE [13 songs, 36:05 minutes, 47 MB zip file]

EDIT; While I'm away, I'd heartily endorse the following: Mssers Colin, JC , and Ed for all your Scottish pop blogging needs (needs, I say), while Ally, London Lee, Davy and Crash make up the remaining roundtable of British bloggers. Dearest FiL and Matthew for witty prose as well as quality music, and ZB and CP are my favorite sources for fantastic podcasts. Merz, Fraser and Marcy each have wonderful, ecclectic American music blogs, and you can't beat Mentok, Omega, Subter and I Like for (mostly) non music related enjoyment.

Welcome to the UK Elizabeth, albeit a peculiar corner of it.

Hope you have fun . . .

I'll make a note in my diary for the 23rd June and will play something appropriate for you in celebration.

Oh! Oh!! I've come over all emotional!!

Have the safest of trips, Dearest Liz, and the happiest, happiest of starts to Manxylife!!!

P.S. Summat to ponder on the flight: would Tullycraft's "Twee" work sung to the tune of Mudhoney's "Touch Me, I'm Sick?" Tweegrunge, anyone??

P.P.S. Do tell your mum for me that she's the coolest EVAH, ok?

Simon J., thank you so much, and peculiar is pretty spot on. But, I can't say no to lower taxes, cat sanctuaries, and a 15 minute walk to the sea.

FiL, thanks for the well-wishes. Here's to a happy start that begins with a moderately stress free 24 hour journey. I'm flying Virgin this time, and hopefully they will be more in tune with my needs as a hip, hop, happening traveler. And will do about the mum bit. I'm glad I'll get to spend mother's day with her before taking off.

A tremendous bunch of songs with which to say au revoir.

Thanks also for the mention - much of what i've done wouldn't have been possible without your great encouragement and support.

Have a great time with the family, and don't get too teary.

Our little grouping of islands is ready to embrace you (as long as funky Si doesn't get too jealous).

Love etc

Have a nice and safe journey towards your rainbow's foot.
The whole ikhtonian community (a man, a ghost and an old cat lady) wishes both of you happiness, happiness and... happiness.

Liz, I am sure to have missed you but perhaps you will pick this up from Blighty: thanks so much for the shout out and welcome (back) to England - my country, the home of the free, such miserable weather, etc. Am loving the zip x
